National Youth Week in Victoria

The message from the Victorian (Vic) Minister for Youth is available on the Vic Minister's page.

National Youth Week is a great opportunity for Victorians to join the rest of Australia in recognising and celebrating the diverse skills, knowledge and ideas young people contribute to their local communities. It is also a chance for young Victorians to showcase their talents or highlight issues in their region that are important to them.

The Victorian National Youth Week grants support diverse groups of young people aged 12 to 25 to organise hundreds of local projects, events and activities across the state. These events include live music festivals, arts focused exhibitions, forums and workshops.

In addition to the many great events held during National Youth Week, young people also have the opportunity to take a lead role in the decision making process by participating in a grant assessment workshop facilitated by the Office for Youth in various locations around Victoria.

The 2012 National Youth Week Young Member for Victoria is Stephanie Raike, a 21 year old student from Frankston. Stephanie has been a member of organisations such as the Oaktree Foundation, the Youth Advisory Council of Victoria and Amnesty International.
