The Australian Youth Forum
The Australian Youth Forum (AYF) is run by the Australian Government as an engagement and communication channel between the Government, young people (aged 15 – 24) and the organisations that work with, for and on behalf of young people (also known as the youth sector).
AYF is based on the idea that young people are the best experts on young people’s lives, and so the AYF is open and accessible to all young Australians. You can be involved in the AYF through the AYF website and in person at forums and community activities.
The AYF has talked to thousands of young people through development of the national youTHINK events and outreach events, and as part of the Australian Government’s National Strategy for Young Australians.
The AYF website provides opportunities for all young people, to share their ideas and thoughts on issues of importance to them and to their community and country. Discussion boards are where you can have your say on various topics – previous topics have been binge drinking, body image and global poverty. Ideas received by the AYF have already contributed to Australian Government work.
So, you can be part of it, regardless of who you are or where you live.
