National Youth Week is an important date on the South Australian calendar – a time when young people showcase their talents around the nation.

Last year more than 21,000 people were involved in National Youth Week events in South Australia. This overwhelming community support is testament to the success of the program and the value that young people have within the community.

Live it now, the slogan for 2010 National Youth Week implies many things – living in the moment and making the most of opportunities that arise.

It is important there are opportunities for everyone to get involved in National Youth Week and this is achievable through working together on a local, state and national level.

I encourage all young people to make the most of National Youth Week and to participate at some level. Whether it is through organising an event or supporting events in your local community, take the time to get involved.

Create an event you want to see. Attend an event you are interested in. Seize the moment and use the opportunity National Youth Week provides to take part in the life of the community. Put simply, Live It Now.
