National Youth Week 2010 was launched on Saturday 10th April with simultaneous events in Parramatta, NSW and Victor Harbor, South Australia. Check out video footage of the events.

The Minister for Youth, Kate Ellis officially launched the weeks’ celebrations, which will host over 1000 events throughout, giving all Australians the chance to celebrate and recognise the contributions that young Australians make to the wider community.

Top performers Casey Donovan, Snowdroppers, Matt Van Schie and Chaingang played at the Parramatta event, while Victor Harbor was rocked by Finger Cuffs, Busby Marou, My Escapade and The Swiss. There were also live performances by hip-hop artists and skating shows.

Celebrity ambassadors Stephanie Rice, Matthew Mitcham, Matthew Werkmeister, Renton Millar also attended the events to show their support for National Youth Week.
