Thanks to Anna and Olley for their fantastic entries in the ourspace competition.  If you want to check out their entries, or learn a little more about them, here is the place!

Anna Krjatian – Parramatta

Anna KrjatianAnna Krjatian, a second year student studying a Bachelor of Communications at the University of Western Sydney, was born in the Republic of Georgia. Having moved to Australia after living in Germany and New Zealand, Anna believes that simply living somewhere is not enough, which is why she strives to be an active citizen. In 2009 she was a dancer at youMove, Sydney’s only youth dance company and volunteered her time at the Whitlam Institute (within UWS), SydWest Migrant Interagency and Parramatta Council. Anna hopes to integrate her passion for dance, writing, poetry, art, music and film to create stories that will inspire people towards understanding each other’s cultures, thoughts, feelings and experiences.

Oliver Delvecchio – Fleurieu Peninsula

Oliver DelvecchioA word from Olley:

People are quick to tell me that my name is Olley, and that’s probably because it is; just not spelt like the skateboarding trick.

I’m a young filmmaker who has been making short films with friends since I was 16. During that time, I have produced and screened over 20 of my short films, won first prize in 2 youth awareness film comps as well as co-created a local NYW event ‘Show Us Ya Shorts – Short Film Festival’.

I‘m also extremely passionate about the development of youth culture in Australia, and tip my hat to NYW for this opportunity to use my talents to raise awareness in this issue.
But, as we all know, nothing is official until it’s on Facebook, so excuse me while I update my status.
