A day to clear the mind
Luke Mallison
This is the story of a troubled teen taking the time to sort out his headspace.
In the morning you can see that he is frustrated and agitated. As the day goes on you can see he starts to relax and sort through his thoughts. He partakes in activities that are perfect for clear your mind, such as skating and walking the dog, or even going for a drive.
I finished the film off with the young man watching a sunset. I feel that this shows the inner piece that the young man has now found.

Voicemail
Darrel Hawkins
My short film “Voicemail” explores the competing thoughts inside a young man’ss head (“headspace”) as he is surprised by a phone call from a girl he likes. Past bitterness and a lack of self-confidence undermine his ability to be able to simply answer the phone. In “Voicemail” I intened to explore the way that we can overwhel ourselves with our own thoughts and how we always overthink things, particularly concerning the possiblity of romance.

After You
Sally Leggo
After You explores one of the hardest periods of my life. I was 18 and doing my HSC when a good friend of mine jumped off a cliff to his death. I struggled with jealousy of my friend’s newfound freedom and the fear that I would follow in his footsteps. For so long I kept my feelings to myself, putting on a brave face. But there’s only so long you can keep up the bravado. I broke. But thankfully I broke into life.
