Broome Boys
Danielle Farmer
In this photo I wanted to capture the happiness and energy of a couple of the local Broome boys. Make a move – they certainly are doing just that . Their energy and movement says a lot about their personalities. I waited for sunset, as the colours are so rich and vibrant. I was careful to select the right shutter speed, the level of flash and the exposure but in the end it all added up. I’m so glad with this photo.
Move It/In Circles
Nirrimi Hakanson
My inspiration for this was dancing grass and leaves in wind (whistling leaf-song). It was ballerina children with hair coloured honey sun, flowing and moving with their dancing. I am an aspiring fashion photographer with dreams like helium balloons let go, high in the sky and I want to shoot for Vogue before I’m legally an adult. Youth can do anything if they just move, both minds and bodies, and do something towards making their dreams exist whilst awake.
Moving House
Melanie Flannagan
My photograph incorporates the statement ‘Make a Move’ through the symbolic representation of the cicada and its transition from a shell, much like a person ‘Moving House’. The cicada shell blurred in the background of the photograph illustrates the past, while the live cicada in the foreground shows a clear present.
Not Another Fly On The Wall

A large factor of being a teenager is dealing with the problems that surround you, daily. Peer pressure is a major issue facing our youth, and if uneducated about how to deal with it, youths can often succumb to the pressure. Peer pressure comes in many forms, such as pressuring people to drink or take drugs or pressuring them to do things that they otherwise might not. Not Another Fly On The Wall is a piece against conforming and illustrates that you can break free from the constraints of your peers.
